Before you arrive

Completing your new patient forms in advance saves time in the chair. We will ask about your medical and dental history, medications, allergies and anything that has been bothering you.

If you have had recent X-rays taken elsewhere, ask that office to forward them — it may mean fewer images are needed here.

During the visit

A comprehensive examination includes assessment of your teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues, with digital diagnostics where appropriate. We will talk through what we see, answer your questions and outline options and costs before any treatment is planned.

Common questions

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring a photo ID, your dental insurance information if you have coverage, a list of any medications you take, and your completed new patient forms if you filled them in beforehand.

How long does a first visit take?

Allow roughly 45 to 60 minutes. That covers your health history, a comprehensive examination, any necessary diagnostics and an unhurried conversation about what we find.

Will I have treatment on the first visit?

Usually the first visit is for examination, diagnostics and planning. If something needs urgent attention, we will discuss it with you before starting anything.

How often should I visit the dentist?

Most patients do well with an examination and cleaning every six months. If you have gum disease or a higher risk of decay, your dentist may recommend visiting more often.
